Connect Through Contemporary Literature

The Tuesday Evening Bookclub at Clarkston United Methodist Church invites you to join our thoughtful monthly gathering where we explore and discuss contemporary novels in a welcoming, relaxed environment. Our upcoming meeting features Ann Patchett's widely acclaimed novel, "Tom Lake".

In this captivating story, Patchett weaves a tale of a woman named Lara, who recounts her past as a young actress to her three daughters while they harvest cherries during the COVID-19 pandemic. As Lara shares her experiences with a famous actor at a summer theater called Tom Lake, the narrative beautifully explores themes of memory, family relationships, and how our past shapes who we become.
