Plan A Visit

Sunday Worship Times | 9 am & 11 am

Address | 6600 Waldon Road, Clarkston MI 48346

Welcome!

Our goal is to connect people to people, and people to God. Everyone is welcome at Clarkston United Methodist Church (read our Inclusion Statement  here) and we glad you’re thinking of planning a visit.

Parking

We have a large parking lot, accessible from Waldon Road & Church Street. Designated spaces for visitors are available near the sanctuary entrance, near Waldon Road. Parking for those with limited mobility is also available near our various entrances or in our circle drive.

What to Wear?

Don’t worry - come as you are. On Sunday, most worshippers are somewhere between business and casual. Many worshippers wear khakis or dresses, but many others wear jeans or leggings, and a few wear suit jackets or more formal attire. You are encouraged to wear what makes you feel comfortable.

Entering the Church Building

On Sundays, most people enter through the Sanctuary entrance, which is the entrance closest to Waldon road under the steeple. Typically, a volunteer will greet you in the Gathering Space, and they can direct you to the sanctuary or help you find the nursery or Sunday School area if needed. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. If the greeter doesn’t know the answer, he or she will find someone who can help.

Accessibility

Parking for those with limited mobility is available near all entrances, and every entrance is accessible with a wide ramp, handrail, and buttons automatic door operation. Restrooms with accessible bathroom stalls are available near the sanctuary, as well as a family restroom. In the sanctuary, several pews have spots for wheelchairs to sit. Our sanctuary is equipped with a loop assistive listening system for those with hearing aids.

The Worship Experience

Our worship service might be described as “informal traditional”. Our typical worship service includes many traditional worship elements, like the Lord’s Prayer, hymns, and music from the chancel choir, bell choir, and pipe organ. However, our service also incorporates modern elements, like videos and lyrics being shared on screens. Themes for worship are relatable and relevant, so that the message each week applies to our daily lives. Services typically last about an hour.

Babies, Children and Youth

We offer nursery care (birth to 3 years old), as well as Sunday School classes for elementary age and middle school age kids. These opportunities are offered during both the 9 am & 11 am services.

Coffee

From 9:30 am to 11 am, visit “Front Porch Coffee” near the sanctuary to get a coffee, latte, hot chocolate, or iced lemonade. Our coffee beans come from Honcho, located in Downtown Clarkston.
