Baptism

What is Baptism

Baptism is an outward and visible sign of the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, through which grace we become partakers of his righteousness and heirs of life eternal. Those receiving the Sacrament are thereby marked as Christian disciples, and initiated into the fellowship of Christ’s holy Church. This Sacrament blesses us with the grace to become faithful disciples. This divine gift is to be received joyfully and sincerely..

Who can be baptised

Children and infants can be baptized as long as their parents are ready with passion and integrity to fulfill the vows they will take for their child. The church will stand with them to share in the work and privilege of raising them in faith.Adult baptism is given to those who have not been baptized and desire to receive this gift of baptism as they serve the Lord.

Next steps

If you are interested in Baptism for you or your children, the information below is provided to assist you. First contact the church office (248-625-1611) and set up a time to meet with one of the pastors. At that meeting you will have the chance to talk more about Baptism, learn about the specifics of the service and schedule at which service the baptism will occur. Because the congregation takes a vow of commitment to the Baptized and their families it is necessary to celebrate the sacrament in worship. As much as possible we try to schedule the Baptisms for the third Sunday of each month.
