In keeping with the CUMC vision to “Vitally connect people to people and people to God,” our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our youngest CUMC children . . .where their spiritual education is as important as their developmental growth.
An Infant and toddler room is offered at 8:30 & 10:00am to all children 2 months-3 years old. The infant nursery for children up to 15 months is located in Room #201, and the toddler room for children 15 months-3 years is located in the adjoining Room #202.
Parents will be required to sign their children “in” when dropping off and “out” when picking up. Each parent receives a pager when dropping off their child in the nursery. Children will only be released to the people noted on the Child Registration Form. This form MUST be completed prior to use of our nursery and toddler room. |

Safety Measures: Our nursery is supervised by a coordinator who staffs and oversees all care. The infant area is physically separated from the toddler play area. The nursery rooms, toys and equipment are cleaned regularly and inspected to remove or correct any dangerous elements. Children with know illnesses are not admitted into the nursery. A parent in the sanctuary can be notified immediately of any needs through our nursery alert-paging system. Each child in our care will have a registration and information form filled out by their parent/guardian.
What to bring: 3-4 diapers, 2 weather appropriate changes of clothes, including socks, pre-filled bottles or sippy cups, and comfort items like a pacifier or blanket. Please Label Everything!
Our curriculum is designed to meet the developmental needs of the children and to provide comfort and enjoyment while they are in our care. Infants can enjoy floor time on quilts with age-appropriate toys and caregivers nearby to interact and comfort as needed. Infants needing naps will be provided a safe area in which to rest where they are visible to caregivers.
Toddlers will be invited to engage in age-appropriate activities with their peers and caregivers. A variety of toys will be available for their enjoyment. Bible related “Song Book’, stories, and other adult directed activities, designed for this age group will be presented during each worship session.
Volunteers are needed to assist in the nursery. As a congregation, we vow to “ . . . nurture these children in Christ’s holy Church, that by your teaching and example they may be guided to accept God’s grace for themselves, to profess their faith openly, and to lead a Christian life.” As caregivers, we honor that pledge.
