Please feel free to join any group or ask any questions of a committee. Each year a committee looks for volunteers to lead our church for the coming year. Our current catalog of committees and activities is coming soon!

Here is just a short list of the volunteer leadership in the church:

EDUCATION I - CHILDREN

The purpose of the Education I - Children committee is to organize and expand programs for the children of our church.

EDUCATION II - YOUTH

This committee works toward providing programs and opportunities for the youth of our church to develop personal faith in Christ.

EDUCATION III - ADULTS

This group provides ministry of opportunities for adults through Bible studies, Christian fellowship, prayer vigils and other spiritual growth activities.

FINANCE

The Finance Committee meets monthly to review budgetary issues. They are responsible for handling the annual stewardship campaign and compiling the budget.

HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE

The Hospitality Committee assists in the welcoming programs of the church, which include greeting, ushering and welcoming new members into the life of the church.

KITCHEN

The Kitchen Committee coordinates use of the kitchen including maintaining equipment and ordering supplies.

MEMORIALS

This committee manages expenditures of funds donated to the church in memory of loved ones. It meets the second Wednesday of each month at 9 am from September through May.

MEN OF THE CHURCH

Our purpose is to make all men feel welcome at CUMC. Every man is a part of this group and invited and encouraged to attend our monthly Men's Breakfast. Yearly activities include Adopt-A-Highway, Classic Car Show, Salvation Army Bell Ringing and more.

WORSHIP AND MUSIC

The purpose of the Music/Worship Committee is to review various areas of worship and music in our church and make recommendations to worship teams and Administrative Council.

NOMINATIONS/LEADERSHIP

This committee is responsible for selecting church leadership.

SCHOLARSHIP

The Scholarship Committee awards scholarship monies to high school seniors and those returning for higher education.

STAFF/PASTOR/PARISH RELATIONS

This committee supports the professional needs of our congregation by supporting, maintaining and developing the staff of our church. It is responsible for hiring, reviewing and nurturing the church staff. This committee meets monthly.

STEWARDSHIP TEAM

This team helps our church family examine and then react to how we handle the assets and gifts God has given to us all. Through education, we explore three major categories: time, talents and resources.

TRUSTEES

This committee is responsible to oversee, maintain and supervise all local church property. It is responsible, in conjunction with the pastor, for all use of the church buildings and grounds. Committee meetings take place the second Monday of each month at 7 PM.  

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

Every woman at CUMC is encouraged to attend one of our circles. We currently have four circles to meet the diverse needs of our congregation. Circle meetings have devotions, prayer, fellowship, speakers and time for mission projects. Plus, we have a lot of fun!
